Original concept for the Rainbow Bridge

Construction drawing

Construction begins

The glass goes in

Toughened laminated glass was used along with Douglas Fir

The light illuminates the wood

The monochrome background is lit up with colour

Looking through the glass gives the viewer a different perspective on the natural world

Seasons, time of day and light all change the mood of the space

As light fades the light is focused through the glass onto the canvas of wood

The wood performs the role of canvas for the light to shine its message

Discs of glass by the artist create a series of animal souls which reflect life

The animal souls are remembered spaces for lost friends

The glass shines different at different times of the day

The completed bridge provides a space over water that is reflective
